Dear Editor:
Approximately 2,100 children in the Grapevine-Colleyville and Southlake school districts qualified for either free or reduced-priced meals last year.July 18
Thanking Southlake Good Samaritans
Dear Editor,
On July 3, I was passing through Southlake from Dallas, visiting family west of the Metroplex. I was traveling with my wife, toddler and 5-year-old yellow Labrador, Abbey, who because of space, was riding in the bed of the truck. We came down TX 114 into Southlake amid the fireworks grand finale. As we entered Roanoke, we stopped at the light at U.S. 377 and found Abbey was gone! I can’t describe the panic and sorrow we felt realizing we had not slowed below 50 mph since we left Dallas.Dear Editor:
Two weeks ago on Saturday night our home in Southlake was hit by lightning. Within minutes our home was on fire. The next several hours were a blur of activity. Several fire departments in the area responded to the alarm [thank you Grapevine and Colleyville, too].Dear Editor:
On Father’s Day, I was enjoying a bike ride along one of the trails of Grapevine Lake when I lost control of the bike and took a hard fall into the nearby brush.Dear Editor:
I urge Southlake residents to vote for my long time friend, Pamela A. Muller, for Southlake City Council, in the upcoming City Council runoff election.Dear Editor:
Suzanne Maisto’s campaign positions are reminding me of that old game show, To Tell the Truth.Dear Editor:
As a Southlake resident for more than seven years I value this family oriented community and the way this city has developed. I am supporting Pamela Muller in the Southlake City Council run off election on June 14 because I feel her experience and service over the past 20 years in Southlake will ensure we continue to grow with the same mind-set that has made this city a wonderful place to live.Dear Editor:
Regarding the May 9 letter to the editor who claims he and the Southlake Journal were accused of benefiting from pornography, well touché!! Now I am a single minded zealot!Dear Editor,
I was not surprised by being attacked and accused of being someone benefiting from pornography. The writer similarly criticizes the Southlake Journal for its recent article, "Council Eyes Web Filter Plan; Critics Point to Censorship, Technology Problems."Dear Editor,
The article on The CP80 Foundation and its efforts to help protect children from pornography entitled, “Council Eyes Web Filter Plan” had several misleading and alarming falsehoods. In my experience promoting this organization and all laws that work to protect children online, I have discovered that the only people opposed to such actions are those who are benefitting from pornography themselves.
